Somehow this post passed me by, so just revisited... The poppies made me think of a previous post and what we like about "art" and the reaction we have to certain pieces. I immediately thought of my great-grandfather who died in the Battle of the Somme and like so many others has no known grave. He left behind three children under the age of ten. He was a volunteer......... Think I'll just go and give my tribe an extra kiss goodnight and count my blessings that I can.

Someone told me a long time ago that every generation eventually forgets the mistakes and hiccups of the generation which went before.
63 years is a long time, the danger is that memories like this could retire soon.
Fingers crossed.
Down to us to tell our children, and impress upon them the need to do the same.
Hi Sam,
This is a lovely post...the sentiment and the image.
Love and peace floating on a wave and coming in your direction.
Ana
Hi Ana, thank-you, I'll be on the beach in the morning to collect your wave.

Seems very fair to me.
