I stumbled across this evidence of someone strolling with their canine companion earlier this morning.
Our poor old dog died at the end of last year. No more for her the early morning scuttle across tide washed virgin sand.
I'm not a jealous man, but I have to admit, today I covet my neighbours dog.

Hi Sam
Had to comment on this one, what a lovely image. It certainly pulled at my heart strings.
I have to agree that on this (finally) sunny day, there is nothing that I would like more than to be up on Mundesley beach with our two. They are quite happily tearing around the garden right now though, simple as ever! Hope you are well?
Xx
Hey Soz, lovely to hear from you.
Glad the mental dogs are still mental.
We are all fine. Swam in the sea today for the first time this summer !
But not the last time i hope!
The sea was lovely yesterday as was the BBQ - Thanks guys!
Spot on mate. Splendid session of good food, music, chat and a taste of the old sea. What more could you want on a Sunday afternoon. Cheers! x
hello Sam!
yes, man's and woman's best friend...my dog is still alive. I cannot imagine life without her.
Thank you anonymous BBQ fans...who-ever you are !!!!
(X)
HI Ana, nice to hear from you. I'm thinking about getting a puppy !
A puppy...??? How exciting!! What does the lady of the house say about this? x x
i thought you decided against a puppy???
That lovely cream carpet....
I'm working on her....and I'm pretending the cream carpet is actually muck brown......
I would have said sausage brown...............!
Am still getting sand out of my bra after the swim!!
Lovely picture and gingerwitch you are a hussy! Think the gene that makes you sentimental about animals bypassed me. I was brought up with a lovely pooch who we were all very fond of but prefer people!
Sandy Bra........sounds like a good name for a campsite.
As for the people/animals thing, I generally much prefer people. However, I think there is a bit of primeval stuff about men out and about with dogs.
And as for anonymous sausage dropping on the carpet, we don't want any.........do we Tom ?
chortle, chortle!
Man, dog, beach.
What else does a chap need?
Exactly my point.
Succinct and accurate as always, my freaky friend.
Reveal your thoughts about breed and gender.
Same again?
Same breed, but opposite gender.
I really like this image... so lovely!
Thanks!
Aaah, that's what it is about, thanks for sharing this one...
Thanks for your appreciative comments ms s, and Helen.
Weird how something as simple as a couple of footprints can get right under the old skin !
Buried my dad's old Lab tonight, poor old bugger had finally had enough and has curled up for the final time. She'd looked tired for a while now, time had come and all that.
Outrageously fantastic beast, always happier swimming in the river than on land. We called her Tarka before we knew that. Couldn't have picked a more suitable name. Happiest dog I've ever known.
She kept me sane through my late teens and early 20s. Now I'm in my early 30s, live elsewhere and have my own beast - but I'm pleased to have had the chance to help with the last rites.
Odd thing this life, lots of beginnings and lots of ends.
Lets spend the middle bits making as many footprints in the sand as we can.
Bloody hell Beachfreak, am sitting here with tears in my eyes. Per my earlier post, am not particularly sentimental about animals but you really struck a chord. Love to you and yours xx.
Yes, he does have a way with words doesn't he!!
And as for the dog thing, i fought all the way (bfore finally giving in) on that count but our life wouldn't be the same without ou Poppy Puppy!!!
gd job I'm nt a juornalist or anythng wiht this terible typnig
Beachfreak, sorry to hear of Tarka's demise.
There is little so melancholy as the end of something that reminds us of our twenties.
