Remembering

Found a great site while stooging around the net last night...... Illustration Friday.

In a nutshell, there is a weekly topic set on a Friday, anyone can submit an illustration to fit the topic. Drawings, paintings, digital imagery, all are acceptable.......I'm gonna have a lash, I respectfully encourage you to do the same.

If you scroll down the page a bit, you'll see the " IF " button near the hit counter.

I am cheating a little bit on the first one, (Remembering is this weeks topic). I found this sketch I did at Easter.
It's of my youngest nephew Johnny, he's a Midlands lad, and not being used to the beach he insisted on repeatedly fetching "flat sand" from near the waters edge to build his sand castles with.

cute sketch!

And, gingerwitch, I've seen some awesome stick men out here in bloggerville, so I would suggest you have a go at it!

I have heard of IF, Sam. Looks like a fun site to participate with other artists.

Hi Ginga.....yep, stick men would be cool.

I think it's a pretty cool weekly thing to do ana.
There are LOADS of people having a go. The only downside is that you need a wesite to backlink to.

That's so cool! That could be what I need to get the old juices flowing. The creative ones, you understand. In the metaphorical sense. Um. Not... Right, I'll just be off to that website then.

As the father of said small boy I can inform you that his latest trick was to try and dig a trench to "catch the sea" on a Southern Irish beach this weekend. He achieved this whilst facing away from the sea not noticing that the tide was rapidly cutting him off from the rest of the beach.

He needs to spend more time with his uncle "the old sea dog!"

Oh and nice sketch by the way....
