Goodbye darkness my old friend

The sky was torn open by the dawn this morning.
It was as if the light moved the clouds, without any involvement from the air.
As I watched the blue-grey clouds parted to reveal the livid red and yellow scar of daylight. Beautiful, and distinctly autumnal.

Haven't seen one as spectacular as that for a while, thanks for sharing it.

Maybe I'll get my tired, grumpy arse down to the beach tomorrow morning and see what's on show.

Due to a previous thread suggesting certain shades of pink in my personality, I have decided a trip to the beach in the morning is vital, easterly or no easterly.

In fact, to coin a local phrase, I'm kind of hoping it's blowing a bastard, the waves are at least 10 feet and I get into a fist fight.

I shall report back.

How did it go then ?

It was most pleasant, the dog went scatty as she often does when the wind is up a bit and there's sea fluff blowing around everywhere. She spent most of the time chasing tiny swirling chunks of foam, occasionally catching them in her mouth with a 6 foot leap in the air - only to find there was nothing to show for her victory on landing, other than a vile taste in her mouth which she tried to spit out.....before eyeing another flying lumplet and starting again. And again.

Like most of the females I know, she demonstrates a fine, energetic brain, but can be undeniably thick sometimes.

Shocked to see how much sand has been stripped off the beach though. Some of Cart Gap is back down to the clay. It's not a sight I like, makes me nervous.
